Ann Sackey

Tilling the soil brings a peace to me that is calming. I like the smell of moist dirt, the silky feel of rich soil sifting through my fingers and even the trickles of sweat on my brow as the sun beats down on my face. And, oh my delight when I see that first sign of life—a small leaf budding from a seed I have planted.

It is during these times that I am not only inspired, but also most grateful. Grateful that Charm City Land Trusts stewards community land in the neighborhood. Land where I can reflect, be encouraged, and bring to a momentary halt the ever-quickening pace of life.
